February is always a tough month for the fishing community. For many of the days, the wind was strong and unpredictable. The sea was choppy with a high swell, definitely not comfortable. On the bright side, when the day did dawn calm with blue skies the swell abated and fishing conditions were great.
Bottom fishing is always rewarding and this month conger eel were taking the bait providing some good sport. In the midwater gilthead sea bream and mackerel were taken in some numbers despite the small snappers that tended to pinch the bait before the larger fish could get to the hook.
