A small bar in a small town has revolutionised the burger, beer and music festivals. For the past 11 years Bar Allioli has been run by Synnøve from Denmark and Paul from the UK.
The bar specialises in Homemade Burgers, styled around a personal interpretation of different countries cuisine. For example, the English burger is beef mixed with bacon and filled with mature cheddar cheese. It is served topped with Heinz Baked Beans. The Irish burger is lamb with mustard blended with O’Hara Stout and the Belgium burger is horsemeat topped with Belgian Beer Stew. The Scottish burger contains Haggis, naturally.
Beer is important. Allioli has eight different beers on tap, two of which are guest beers such as Strong Bitter from La Linea and Leffe Radiuese, along with more than sixty different bottled or canned beers from Spain, Portugal, Britain, Denmark, Russia and, of course, Belgium. For the drivers, Allioli has five types of non-alcoholic beers.
Almost every weekend throughout the year there is live music. In winter the show is usually on a Saturday night and in summer is often on Sunday afternoon. You will hear all genres of music, the accent being on originality rather than copy bands.
