Places to go in Andalucia
There is no shortage of places to go or things to do in Andalucia. Whether on holiday, a tourist passing through or a resident, you will find somewhere that interests you and your family. Visit a disused goldmine and the cowboy town of Tabernas in Almeria. Explore the 5000 year old dolmens of Antequerra (declared a World Heritage Site in 2016) or submerge yourself in the hot springs of the Roman Baths in Casares, both in Malaga province. Travel from Algeciras to Ronda on a train line built by the British or see the excavated Roman town of Baelo Claudia in Cadiz province. In Cordoba province you can see the recently discovered Madinat al-Zahra, a magnificent residence built for the Caliphs of Andalucia and Granada of course has the Alhambra and the Nazrid Palace. Andalucia is by no means all 'sand, sea and sangria' although there is a bit of that. The Spanish are very family orientated and family activites are well catered for from al fresco picnics in recreation area to orchid and butterfly houses that will fascinate the youngsters.
