Stolen Masterpieces, The Most Sensational Art Thefts in History

Stolen Masterpieces looks at famous works of art that have been stolen, such as Munch’s The Scream and the masterpieces stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, including works by Vermeer and Rembrandt. The lecturer Shauna Isaac will look at other works including Leonardo da Vinci’s Madonna with the Yarnwinder and Titian’s Rest on the Flight into Egypt. The lecture will discuss why thieves steal, the appeal of famous masterpieces and the implications that art theft is the third largest international crime after the selling of drugs and arms.

Lecturer: Shauna Isaac

The lectures start at 16:30 and are held at the Salón Varietés, Fuengirola.

MEMBERS: Free; NON-MEMBERS: 10€ per lecture, to be paid at the visitors’ desk prior to the lecture.
