SPAIN IN ROMAN TIMES FOCUSING ON ITS CAPITAL MERIDA

held in Benahavis, Málaga Province

Tuesday 28 Jan 2020

Our first New Year talk will deal with Spain in Roman times focusing on its capital Merida which was founded in 25 BC. At this time in history, the area around Merida known as Lusitania was one of the wealthiest parts of the Mediterranean. To this day its forum, triumphal arch and amphitheatre dominate the town, a legacy that provides superb evidence of the impact of Imperial Rome.

Benahavis Town Hall 6.30 Prompt.
